Tots-N-Science

Headwaters Science Center offers programs for children ages 2-5 on Wednesdays. Bring your child to these programs for stories, hands on activities, and games to help children learn about things going on in their environment.

·       Adults must accompany children.

·       Pre-register by the day before the program. Call (218) 444-4472 to register.

·       Program times: 10:00-11:00 AM each Wednesday.

Notice: There will be no "Tots" programs in May.

Scheduled Topics:

June 4 -Buzzin’ Bees. Who is the queen and who are the worker bees? Bee part of our bee colony as we look at who does what in a hive.

June 11 - Tall Trees. We climb them, we get food from them and we build our houses out of them. Let's discover more about trees.

June 18 - Amazing Animals. Snakes, spiders and lizards oh my! Take a close look at some of the amazing animals that live at the Science Center.

June 25 - Kid Chemistry. Mix and unmix colors. Combine 2 liquids to make a solid. Try some cool chemistry!

July 2 - Wonderful Water. Does it sink? Does it float? Can I sail my own boat? We may get a little wet, but exploring the wonders of water is what it's all about.

July 7- Lovely Ladybugs. Lets look at these interesting little insects with spots on their backs to see what they eat, where they live, and why they are important.

July 16 - Oceans. Let's bring the big blue ocean a little closer to home with a little sand, salt and sea animals.

July 23 - Awesome Opossums. What in the world is an opossum anyway. Let's find out about these interesting creatures.

July 30 - NO TOTS. Camp invention takes over at HSC.

August 6 - More Wonderful Water. Are we wet yet! More wonderful water play

August 13 - Delightful Ducks. Diving, quacking, swimming! From their beak to their tail feathers this common northwoods visitor is a real treasure.

August 20 - Pond Life. What kind of animals live in our lakes? You may be surprised who keeps you company when you go swimming!

August 27 - Star Lab. Come check out the night sky in our portable planetarium
