Adopt an Animal
HSC is home to over 40 animal species. Your contribution toward our
“Adopt-an-animal” program directly supports the care and feeding of the
animals. Adoption is a great way to add a fascinating animal species (a
wild child!) to your family, group, classroom, or organization. All
adoptions are valid for one year from the date of contribution. Adopting
an animal is an opportunity for you, your child, school, or youth group
to get involved in the care of our animals. Inspire children to learn
the importance of animal care and teamwork.
Choose a favorite animal and then develop a creative way to raise money
for your adoption. All the adopted animals remain in the care and
custody of HSC; no ownership rights are conferred by adoption. Should
your adopted animal leave our collection for any reason, your
sponsorship will be applied to the general animal collection for the
remainder of the year. Due to their popularity some animals may be adopted more than once.
WHO CAN ADOPT: Any individual, family, group, classroom, or
organization. Sponsors under the age of 18 must have a parent or
guardian signature. HOW TO ADOPT: Choose the animal you would like to adopt and fill
out the necessary form at the Center (or we’ll be happy to mail you
one). Payment can be made with cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard. All
information can be dropped off at HSC or mailed to HSC at 413 Beltrami
Ave., Bemidji, MN 56601. You can also call in your adoption request to
HSC at (218) 444-4472. WHAT YOU GET: An adoption certificate, a photo of the animal you have
adopted, a fact sheet telling you about your animal, a bookmark, and the
satisfaction of knowing you are helping the animals at the Science
Center. Click here for an
adoption form you can print and mail to HSC. |
